Born from the love of a bear and a goose—Josh and Kenzi—Pooka's Lair began its journey in 2019. What started as a simple passion project soon found its footing and grew, becoming a dedicated video game club in 2020. This was a crucial time, as the world navigated the COVID-19 lockdown, and Pooka's Lair provided a much-needed virtual space for around 8 members to connect and game together.
The community's ambition grew in 2021 when a bold attempt was made to launch a social media platform akin to YouTube. While this venture ultimately didn't succeed, the group's resilience shone through as they returned to their roots as a video game club, now with 12 dedicated members. The spirit of exploration continued in 2022 with a foray into the world of tabletop gaming. A post-apocalyptic zombie-themed RPG was a fun, though not entirely successful, adventure.
The core identity of Pooka's Lair as a video game community remained strong. The following years saw them dabbling in video game development, conceptualizing ideas, and even creating concept demos. This creative spark, while eventually put on hold, showcased the community's passion and diverse talents. The community continued to grow, reaching 15 members.
Now, in 2025, Pooka's Lair is embarking on its most ambitious chapter yet. A full revamp is underway to redefine its image and mission. The goal is to cultivate a tight-knit, friendly community—always welcoming new members—and to provide valuable services, starting with free Game Servers and eventually offering paid options. The ultimate vision is to one day offer digital and physical products, extending the Pooka's Lair experience to its members and the wider world. The future is bright for Pooka's Lair, a testament to the enduring power of friendship, passion, and community.
December* Update
07DEC25
Good lord, December is here! We know this final stretch of the year is incredibly busy for everyone with personal commitments and holiday preparations.
To ensure we all have time to focus on what truly matters—family and loved ones—we will be suspending most of our sessions, events, and in-person activities until mid-January.
Wishing you all the best for a Merry Christmas and a relaxing New Year!
